The Republican Tradition

The GOP (Grand Old Party) has, from its very beginning, been the growth and opportunity party. We've always stood for the principals of liberty, justice and economic freedom for all. That includes being the driving force behind the abolition of slavery.

We are the party that believes in liberty and trusts people to know and act in their best self interest. It's knowing that an informed citizenry is fully capable of making better decisions for themselves than government does. It's knowing that we don't need to be protected by government as much as we need to be protected from government.

We are the party that defends the social, economic and cultural interests and values of working American families of every race, color and creed. We're the only major party that continues to defend the California constitution's guarantee that "The state shall not discriminate against, or grant preferential treatment to, any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin in the operation of public employment, public education, or public contracting."

We are the party that believes in freedom of speech - not censorship and the cancel culture.

We are the party that recognizes freedom of religion as a basic human right.

We are the party of limited government and low taxes. We lead the fight against job killing regulations.

America is a country of 45 million immigrants. Many risked everything including their lives and they didn't come for socialism or a free handout. They came for liberty and the opportunity to work and build a better life in a country with more economic freedom than their own. We count them as a vital part of our party.

A record number of Republican women and people of color ran for state and federal offices in 2020. They see what America's immigrants see. We are the party that craves opportunity and prosperity, not paternalism and the subsistence it brings.
